Treasures in Town

I spoke with Robin at Glass with Class, and he requested we put together a sign-up sheet for him to keep at his store for potential vendors. He has been the driving force behind this idea of having a "Treasures in Town" in Crossman Park. The idea is to give everyone an opportunity to hold their garage sale in the park. The CreekFest committee needs to put this onto the schedule of events flyer for CreekFest as well as into the press release. Debbie Baker is willing manage the market the day of CreekFest, June 7 from 9am to 3pm. The cost per 10x20 spot is $10.

If anyone is willing to manage future dates, this would be a magnificent way to bring people into the downtown area, as well as give them an opportunity to come together and make some connections as well as cash. This would make a nice article for the DDA newsletter.

Do we need a separate Work Plan for this aspect of CreekFest or for itself as a standalone event? If this Treasures in Town is to be established for other times, how often? Once a month?

I think this blog idea is great! Thanks Jim

Thanks Tim,
Unfortunately I cannot take credit for blogging. I am just "paying it forward" so to speak (Great movie by the way). We have many hidden treasures in our little community Most of which is the creative potential yet realized in our people. Also there is a treasure trove of "stuff" people could sell at this flea market in the park. I'd vote for every saturday weather permitting. If it works well then take it indoors in winter and inclement weather. Maybe St. Annes or do a rotational thing with various churches or even the Senior Center. This could be used as a fundraiser for local self help and charities such as the local food pantry.I would be interested in signing up to help host some saturdays.
